The best part of our first meeting with a #JCECouple is learning their love story. It goes like this…we first learn how the couple met. We watch the couple share glances and smiles remembering those first months of dating. We can hear the joy and excitement in their voices. Then comes our favorite part, the engagement story. This is where the bride looks down at her ring and smiles.
Love stories give us all the feels.
Cassidy and Austin’s love story is no different. It is beautiful, it is non-traditional, and it is perfect.
Cassidy and Austin first met in high school at a local gym when some friends introduced them. Some may think since they met in a gym, it was big muscles that attracted Cassidy to Austin. Instead, Cassidy could not get enough of his “big fro” and instantly a crush began. They spent New Year's Eve together and shared a NYE kiss, but lost touch shortly after.
Nine years later Cassidy and Austin reconnected on a dating app. That one swipe led these two love birds to spend their first date listening to their favorite music and catching up on the nine years that passed since they first met. After that first night, nine years would prove to be enough, for they have been inseparable ever since.
Their engagement story is just as sweet. Cassidy and Austin planned to take the day off so they could hang out with each other. Cassidy’s mother called at the last minutes and asked that Cassidy take her to an appointment. Cassidy did not know it at the time; however, this was all part of the proposal plan. When Cassidy returned home from the appointment, Austin met her at the jeep and led her into the house following a path of rose petals. With their song, Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis, playing the background and candlelight illuminating the room, Austin got down on one knee and popped the question. Cassidy excitedly said YES.
We are so excited to share this time with this amazing couple. Their personalities shine and they are excited to put their own personal touches on typical wedding traditions.
Their wedding is set to take place in the Fall of 2021. When asked to describe her vision for their day, Cassidy pictures it as a boho, gypsy, purple chaos. She is most excited to “lock it down” with Austin and make it official. Like many brides, she hopes the day runs smooth and as wedding planners, that is our hope as well.
When asked to share advice that Cassidy has learned during the wedding planning process, she offers this to soon-to-be brides…take a deep breath, find pictures of what you like and do not like, and put your own spin on the day and make it your own.
Congratulations Cassidy and Austin. Welcome to the #janecarolevents family. We look forward to celebrating with you on your wedding day.
